The isolation of fauna on the Mediterranean islands has led to particular developments. Today we discover fossils of elephants and dwarf hippootamus, as well as giant rats and rabbits. Some of these fossils have probably served as inspiration for mythological stories.

This conference is part of the Ocean Thematic and Prehistoric Civilizations of the Les Rendez-vous des Arts et de la Culture Program
