Venice before Venice: geoarchical accounts of the lagoon at the dawn of anthropocene

This conference explores the archaeo-environmental evolution of the Venice lagoon before the foundation of the city, highlighting the geo-eco-anthropological dynamics of the region.

Through a geologic approach, this conference analyses the natural and anthropogenic transformations of the lagoon since the pre-Roman period, offering a new perspective on the beginnings of paleo-anthropocene and their role in the formation of the Venetian landscape.
