The Danaid Way
As part of the third edition of the Festival de Tragédies
After taking part in workshops to apprehend symbolic movements, the shared rhythm and form a procession, “ lovers” will guide you for a collective walk towards a sacred passage, from the Archaeology Museum to the amphitheatre of the Cimiez Arenas, in the opening of the Les Suppliantes show.

The TNN offers a collective and ritual experience around the Eschyle Suppliants: The Danaid Path. A group of participants, guided by workshops of symbolic gestures and movements, will not learn the postures of the supplic, the offering and the shared march, transforming the gesture on the way. The procession will depart from the Nice-Cimiez Archeology Museum to join the Amphitheatre of the Cimiez Arenas, making tragedy travel in the city space. It is neither a spectacle nor a simple walk, but a ritual, silent walk that resonates together the body, memory and public space. The Danaid Path offers the public to cross the threshold of tragedy together, not only as a spectator, but as an actor of the same shared gesture.
People wishing to participate in this procession must register for the workshops, which will take place at the Nice-Cimiez Archeology Museum, and therefore be available for all of the following dates:• Wednesday 17 June from 3 to 5.30 p.m.• Saturday 20 June from 3 pm to 5:30 pm• Wednesday, June 24, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.Registration with Agnès Mercier • agnes.mercier@theatredenice.org before Monday, June 15, 2026.
