A day without wind [An orestia]
As part of the third edition of the Tragédies Festival.
The day without wind is that of the sacrifice of Iphigenia by his father Agamemnon. From the Troy War to the Courts of Athens, L’Orestie stages humanity in what it has worse and better. She tells us how the establishment of justice and democracy allows us to overcome the infernal cycle of revenge and to pacify society. Peace is, but at what cost? For beyond the stories of Agamemnon, Oreste and Clytemnestre, this tragedy highlights a paradox: that of the women sacrificed, silenced, eliminated so that the peace of men can be built.
Inspired by the tragedy of Eschyle, Céleste Germe, Maëlys Ricordeau and the company Das Plateau resonate the dilemmas of yesterday with those of today for a dazzling show. The incandescent writing of the poet Milène Tournier dialogues with that of Eschyle to probe this founding myth, which strongly interrogates the relations of power and domination structuring our intimate, social and political organizations.
