The island of Lesbos, the cradle of Greek poet Sappho sees lesbians from all over the world arriving in the 1970s, who find their paradise in the village of Eressos. A real lesbian community then established itself, within which freedom, sorority and nature are the masterwords.But for the local population, this mass arrival of frightened and complex women is not always seen with a good eye... From the 1970s to the 2010s, tensions, links and conflicts around the question of knowing who Lesbos belongs were documented by Tzeli Hadjidimitriou, native of the island. Between exciting archives and generous interviews, the filmmaker brilliantly reconstitutes the complexity of more than 40 years of unusual cohabitation.
