On April 8, 1925, a new building opened in the heart of Nice: the Municipal Library of Nice, now known as the Roman Gary Heritage Library. For a century, this majestic place, frequented by generations of students, researchers and lovers of knowledge, has kept precious traces of our collective heritage. Its rooms decorated with Art Deco motifs and its rare collections drawn in the former episcopal library of 1706, enriched by the revolutionary confiscations and donations of notable scholars, make it a temple of written heritage.
On the occasion of its centenary, an exceptional exhibition reveals unpublished archives retracing the exciting history of this institution: ancient manuscripts, precious prints, scholarly correspondence, art objects and unique sound documents: a representative range of the treasures preserved by the library will be unveiled for the first time to the public.
A unique celebration to rediscover this emblematic place of Nicaraguan culture.
