Carros - exhibition "Hors-series"

Visit of the exhibition "Hors-série" with artists photographers Favret and Manez and discovering...

This project is certified as the Bicentenary of Photography by the Ministry of Culture and is part of the official programming of the Bicentenary from September 1, 2026 to September 30, 2027.
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, come and discover the exhibition with photographers' duo Anne Favret and Patrick Manez who will let you discover some of their shooting materials. A specialist, Giulio Stabellini, will reveal the precautions to be taken to keep the collections of photographs in the best possible condition.
For more than thirty years, Anne Favret and Patrick Manez have been exploring contemporary landscape through a careful observation of the real, cross-border territories, memory and uses.
For the exhibition Horsérie, the duo offers a cross-sectional reading of his work, reorganized into fragments of series, isolated images and recurring motifs, in order to reveal formal correspondence and the construction of the gaze. The Europe series, Plan B questions European territory and its urban imaginary, while Les Arpenteurs, Hyperboréal and Antipolis develop fictional landscapes. These ensembles are crossed by portraits, which make a cross-section between images. In the same spirit, a residence in Carros allowed to photograph the city centre and its daily uses; These images, mixed with fragments of the various series, place the city on an equal footing with the other explored territories.
Thus, Horsérie offers a step aside, where fragments of images and territories, close or distant, real or fictional, respond.
The exhibition is enriched by the presentation of two works from the CIAC collection signed respectively by photographers André Mérian and Geneviève Roy.
