Villefranche/on the footsteps of the 6th Fleet
Villefranche-sur-Mer was officially chosen as the home port of the 6th U.S. Navy Fleet in 1956, and remained there until 20 January 1967. Many American sailors lived here among the population of the French city. You will attend a live show based on a true story in the 1950s, in the form of a walk. Over the course you will meet several high-in-the-counter characters played by amateur actors. You will be welcomed by the famous Mom Germaine who will tell you how she became Mother of the 6th Fleet!
The itinerary is as follows: Quai de la Douane, Place Amélie Pollonais, rue de l'Eglise, rue de May, impasse Mother Germaine, rue Obscure, rue de l'Eglise, rue du Poilu, Jardin des Chasseurs Alpins, avenue Sadi Carnot, Place Amélie Pollonais, Port de la Santé.
This event is proposed by the association The Americans and the 6th Fleet in Villefranche-sur-Mer in partnership with the Jacques Biagini Company.
Reservation free compulsory, 20 people per visit. There are several steps on the itinerary.
