Guided tour of France 1

France 1 is an emblematic French sailboat, built in 1970 at Marcel Bich’s request to represent France at the America Cup.
Designed by the famous naval architect André Mauric, this 12-metre sailboat took part in the competition three times, in 1970, 1974 and 1977.
A true symbol of French maritime know-how, France 1 was ranked as a historic monument in 1992, demonstrating its importance in the French nautical heritage.
After being restored, the sailboat is now based in Hyères, where it continues to sail.
France 1 represents a remarkable French maritime heritage, associated with the spirit of innovation, the elegance and adventure of Marcel Bich.
