Imperial days

Empires & coups d'état

On October 2, 3 and 4, Imperial Days return with an ambitious theme: French Empires and coups d’État.

18 Brumaire, December 2. Two dates that have paved the way for the Empires and that still fuel the debate of historians.
These days propose to study them in citizens, in the light of the specialists gathered
for the occasion.
Nice has a unique connection to this story. It was under the Second Empire that our destiny changed: on April 15 and 16, 1860, Nice County was called to the ballot boxes, and the plebiscite scellad its connection to France. Each Niçois bears its inheritance.
That's why these days have their place here. At the Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen, historians and writers will analyze for 3 days the springs of these takeovers and what they left behind.

On Friday evening, pianist Julien Brocal will open the weekend by taking us to the Vienna of Napoleonic years, with Beethoven, Schubert and Chopin.

In parallel, the Villa Masséna will live at the time of the two Empires: bals, fashion, swordfish, maneuvers in the park, dioramas, and even Napoleonic LEGO workshops for the youngest.

Combining the demands of researchers and the joy of a popular festival: it is the signing of Imperial Days since their creation.
