Gabrielle Cavassa

Born in Escondido, California, of Italian origin, Gabrielle Cavassa began from his earliest age to "obsessively listen" discs. Much self-taught, she has developed a unique approach to singing that will later characterize her art. Cavassa obtained a degree in music at the State University of San Francisco, but she attributes her “real education” to the musical scene of San Francisco Bay. She moved to New Orleans in 2017, where she continued her training in local clubs. In 2020, Cavassa released an independent first album produced by his collaborator Jamison Ross. In 2021 she won the prestigious International Jazz Singing Competition Sarah Vaughan. Cavassa’s participation in the album Blue Note by Joshua Redman, where are we (2023), prompted DownBeat to qualify her as “star in becoming.” Stereophile wrote: "For many, the revelation of this album will be Cavassa.
