Nubiyan Twist

Nubiyan Twist is undoubtedly one of the most interesting collectives on stage of this young generation of English musicians who are uncomplicated in the codes of contemporary jazz. Originally from Leeds, it was in London clubs that these performers concocted their exhilarating agrégat of neo-soul, jazz-funk, Afro-groove and broken beat. Their style is often described as festive, dancing and engaged, with a strong multicultural dimension, in a modern aesthetic and deeply influenced by African and African-American music. The group collaborated with several major figures in international music, including Tony Allen, Fatoumata Diawara, Nile Rodgers and Seun Kuti.
