Nimfa 2026

In 2026, NIMFA (Nice International Music Festival and Academy) explores cinema as a creative space where the image and sound dialogue within a program devoted to contemporary music and interdisciplinary forms.

Organized by the 3IMC, the festival takes place in several emblematic places of the territory. The Conservatoire de Nice becomes the heart of the concerts, world creations, residences and activities of the NIMAcademy which accompanies a new generation of composers for six months. The Francis-Gag Theatre welcomes filmmakers for young audiences and families. The Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen receives programs combining mixed and film-concert music. At the Campus Georges Méliès de Cannes, a study day and roundtables bring together researchers, composers, directors and professionals around the “art and essay music” and film-concert as a living performance.

Reuniting professional ensembles, confirmed composers, young creators and students, NIMFA makes dialogue large works of the repertoire, new creations, image music and artistic research. NIMFA is a place of creation, transmission and reflection, where cinema becomes an active partner in musical writing and a means of meeting artists, audiences and disciplines.
