Justine Tjallinks - Vision
The exhibitionVisionpresented for the first time in a museum, a retrospective of the Dutch artist Justine Tjallinks, through a selection of sixty and an emblematic photograph of his portrait work.
What is the Beau? What defines or justifies beauty cannons? Justine Tjallinks questions traditional beauty codes by changing the aesthetic standards of contemporary society. She seeks to capture with her goal, the singularity of her model and is interested in the beauty of the difference.
The artist draws inspiration from the ancient painting of the Dutch Golden Century to fantastic realism. This influence is particularly visible in the choice of refined colors, balanced compositions, astonishment of details and the use of light.
Although it is inspired by ancient painting, Justine Tjallinks’ work is above all contemporary. His visual language gives him the freedom to play between fantasy and reality.
