Restitution of the project « La Classe, l’oeuvre ! » by the class of 1st, option arts plastiques du lycée Saint-Barthélémy de Nice.
In the framework of the device The Class, the Work! the class of 1st option plastic arts of the high school Saint-Barthélémy led a project of artistic and cultural education in connection with the exhibition Lilette and Gilbert Valentin: from matter to light, dedicated to Gilbert Valentin. Through ceramic design and decoration workshops, students experienced the work of the material in echo of the artist’s research, a major figure in Vallauris’s renewal. A ceramist, granddaughter of the Valentin couple, also intervened in class to present his practice and convey the family artistic heritage.
On the occasion of the European Museum Night, students present to the public their achievements, designed in dialogue with the works exhibited. This restitution is an opportunity to discover their perspective on the artist’s universe and to exchange with them about their creative approach.
