Lilette and Gilbert Valentin: from matter to light

In 1950, Lilette and Gilbert Valentin founded in Vallauris “Les Archanges”, a workshop-galerie, which became the focus of the post-war revival of French ceramics. In this former factory of the Fournas Road, the couple creates a total aesthetic search, attracting the greatest names of the time: Picasso, Cocteau, Prévert or Braque.
This one-hour visit explores the work of these complete creators — especially Gilbert Valentin, a ceramist tour, painter and sculptor — through a constant dialogue between pottery tradition and technical innovation.
