Antoine Graff "Le Ray"

This work embodies a true connection between the past and the present of the Nice GCO. The artist-plasticist in Niçois paid a wonderful tribute to the former Gym enclosure, which saw the passing of generations of supporters. Up to 5.5 metres, its red and black monument was created with the help of many artists from Niçois, who have welded over 30 authentic seats in the Ray. This work of art makes a parallel between the old and the new sports equipment, perpetuating the values of the niçoise culture and celebrating the history and values of the niçois football.

About the Artist :
Antoine Graff joined the Fine Arts in Paris and attended the workshops of the sculptor Zadkine and the painter Lhote. He creates his company of prestigious showcases for pharmacies before embarking on advertising printing in which he attracts artists such as Télémaque, Arman, César, Villeglé... Progressively, his printing company devies to the art edition. He then created the Galerie La Main Bleu in Strasbourg in 1974 where he exhibited Alechinsky, Bam van Velde and Télémaque. He gradually develops the mastery of the technique of froissage and fold that make him a unique artist of his kind.
