The Castle Hill

Ideally placed by the sea, between the port and the old town, the Castle Hill offers a garden of 19.3 hectares. It is one of the favorite parks of the Niçois and tourists. Its shaded aisles and multiple views allow you to discover exceptional views of the bay of the Angels, the city, the hills and the Prealpes. From its viewpoint, overlooking Nice from 92 meters high, we understand the urban extension of the city.
But from the castle itself that occupied the plateau of this hill for a thousand years, there are only remains today. And it was in this place that Nice was founded.

As part of the re-qualification of the Colline du Château and the accessibility policy of its public spaces, the City of Nice has carried out work on redevelopment of the playground.

In order to give the same opportunity to play all the small Niçois and visitors, the playground of the Castle Hill, which extends over 1,600m2, is completely redesigned with the integration of new farmhouses containing inclusive games and planting plants: adding 3 subjects and integrating 300m2 of shrubs.

A "real" castle entirely made of wood now sits on the hill of the same name. An additional tower also complements the offer of games for children with reduced mobility.

The other games, still in good condition, for the 2-5 years were preserved and repositioned. The floor covering has been completely changed to allow a synthetic grass to increase the permeable surface, adapt to the intensive use of the site and meet the standards dedicated to playgrounds. The securing of the playground for the smaller is also ensured by a peripheral fence.
