JEUDI 15 OCTOBER – 18H

An archaeological search of rescue, carried out between 1981 and 1983 within the private property known as "Villa Jacob" located a few meters southeast of the archaeological site of Cimiez, revealed about 4,100 m2 several buildings of the ancient period (thermal and housing), dating between the 1st century before our era and the 4th century.
If the remains of some ancient public buildings in Cimiez are preserved and valued (amphitheatre, thermal district and episcopal group), the residential areas of the city remain little known. For this reason, the old discoveries of the “Villa Jacob” allowed to appreciate a part of the ancient urban area that was located at the limit
Eastern Cemenelum City.
