Naïve Art Museum

The museum is open to the public again.
After 8 months of work and out-of-home workshops, the inauguration of the work will take place on Thursday 23 January at 6pm!
The International Museum of Naïve Art Anatole Jakovsky brings together a unique panorama in the world of the history of naive painting from the 18th century to the present day.

It was installed in the former residence of perfumer François Coty, the Château Sainte Hélène, surrounded by a large park with the most rare species. An intimate and familiar setting to welcome a little known art, described as "naif" because spontaneous, individual favoring the painter's inner vision, which invites each visitor to an imaginary journey.

Paintings, sculptures, drawings, posters, retrace the evolution of this art through the most famous works: Bauchant, Bombois, Vivin, Séraphine, Rimbert, Lefranc, Rabuzin, Ivan and Josip Generalic, Lackovic, Grandma Moses, O’Brady, Haddelsey, Ligabue, Vivancos, the Douanier Rousseau.
A deposit of the Pompidou Centre still enriches this set with works by Bombois, Bauchant, Vivin, Séraphine, Rimbert ...

Inaugurated thanks to the prestigious donation of Anatole and Renée Jakovsky in 1982, he celebrated his 40th anniversary in 2022 with exceptional programming! Embedding and accessibility works, festive events, academic partnerships, participation in the Biennale des Arts... have been the anniversary year.
