Space 01 and 02 - A good in time

The Terra Amata Museum is located at the very site of the prehistoric site which was searched in 1966 by Henry de Lumley and his team for almost 6 months. Indeed, it was the construction of the building that allowed the discovery of the site.
Given the importance of the deposit, it is decided to create a museum. It opened in September 1976. For the 50th anniversary of the museum’s excavation and 40th anniversary, it was completely renovated by the City of Nice in 2016.
In Terra Amata, there is no cave... The men settled on a pebble beach 400,000 years ago.
This prehistoric site belongs to one of the ancient Paleolithic civilizations known as the "Acheulean". »
