Romeo & juliette

ROMEO & JULIETTE, Love never dies
Gérard Presgurvic’s cult musical inspired by William Shakespeare’s work shows his great return!

In Verona, some appointments seem to be written before being announced.
This one is part of it.
She reinvents herself without ever disappearing, and returns as a familiar light.
She murmurs us that love is an essential force, that he knows neither age nor forget, and that he leaves his mark on a lifetime.
This promise we invite you to share...

True popular phenomenon, Romeo & Juliette has already attracted more than 11 million spectators around the world. Translated in 18 languages and played in 20 countries, the show became an international classic, while retaining its status as an iconic work of the French musical.
Launched in 2001 at the Palais des Congrès — where it gathered nearly 2.5 million spectators — production became a cultural reference deeply rooted in collective memory. A real Proust madeleine for a whole generation, incarnated from the beginning by the iconic duo Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara. Unique in the world of French musical, Romeo & Juliette is still the only show that allows the audience to find its original duo on stage.
For Cecilia, "to return to Paris with Romeo & Juliette is deeply moving. I was chosen at 15 to play Juliette, a founding role that marked the beginning of my life as an artist. To find him twenty years later, along with Damien, was a very strong moment — as if we had never left, but enriched by all that life has brought us. This return has a symbolic value: buckle the loop, come back where everything started, with 25 years of experience that now feed the characters otherwise. History continues to gather, to convey love and emotion. It is a great joy and gratitude to meet Juliette and the French public. »
In continuity, Damien adds: "to come back to Paris after having made Romeo & Juliette travel around the world, especially in Asia, has a very special resonance. This role has been with me since 2001, and to find him today alongside Cecilia, with the decline and maturity that time has brought us, gives this adventure a new depth. »
With more than 9 million records sold and titles become inseparable from French pop culture — including the must-see Les Rois du monde or Aimer — Romeo & Juliette has lastingly marked the history of the musical show.
For nearly 25 years, the show has been traveling through cultures and adapts to the evolutions of its time: new techniques, new scenic codes, new expectations of the public. Faithful to his DNA while renewing, he retains what makes his identity: cult songs, a great aesthetic format and an assertive sense of the great show.
For Gérard Presgurvic, “Roméo & Juliette remains the greatest love story of all time. Universal, timeless, she asks an ever-present question: how far are we ready to go for love? Shakespeare responds with a force that crosses
centuries, and it is this emotion that we continue to share with the public. Having the chance to find Damien Sargue and Cecilia Cara, always as inspiring more than twenty years after their debut, is a rare privilege. Their presence brings a new depth to the show, nourished by all the experience they have acquired.
Thanks to the public, faithful since the first day, to continue dreaming with us. Romeo & Juliette is, for me and for the troupe, an adventure of a whole life — and we are happy to write it again together in 2027. »
Through the announcement of the return of Romeo & Juliette, it is not a simple renewal. This is much more than that: proof that some stories — and love above all — go through time.
In 2027, Romeo & Juliette returned to a redesigned version, integrating new generational codes while preserving the essence that has been its success for a quarter of a century: a timeless history, universal emotions and a musical signature that became mythical.
This return is accompanied by a new casting, new costumes and a new scenography, redesigned for today, without ever touching the DNA of the show.
Angelo Gopee, Director General of Live Nation France, explains: “With the return of Romeo & Juliette, we are not just putting a show back on the screen: we are reinventing it. We modernize its scenography, its costumes, its casting, while preserving what has always been the strength of it: a universal history and an artistic DNA that has marked generations.
Love has no age, it doesn’t have fun, it reinvents itself. And that is why the most beautiful love story of all time comes back on stage: to remind us that despite everything, against everything, love remains the most powerful of the evidence. »
We will not reveal everything now... magic will not be revealed by step. Stay up!
