Nice confirmed as the European capital of the esport
The announcement of the return of the EVO in 2026, after the 2025 edition, confirms the lasting anchorage of the event on the French Riviera. Nice is thus a major hub of the esport in Europe, attracting an international community and strengthening its visibility in the digital and competitive world.
L’EVO France 2026 will be held from 9 to 11 October at the Palais des Expositions de Nice.
The Evolution Championship Series (EVO),the world's largest combat video game tournament will be held in Nice in 2026confirming the lasting anchoring of the event on the French Riviera.
The 2026 edition will offer eight official tournaments, compared to seven in 2025, in addition to a selection of community competitions. Three major innovations join the program:MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls and Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game,presented as two European firsts, as well as 2XKO, which made its first appearance in an official tournament.
After a 2025 edition played at closed windows, the organization increases itscapacity of 1,000 additional places per day. The ticket office has been open since 28 June.
A second edition under the sign of growth
Faced with the success of the first European edition, the organizers have optimized and redesigned the spaces of the Palais des Expositions to accommodate more visitors in optimized conditions.
Plateau 2026 brings together, alongside the three new products,Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Guilty Gear Strive, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising and Fatal Fury City of the Wolves. MARVEL Tōkon, developed by Arc System Works, plays as a team of four, while 2XKO stands out for its 2-2 format based on the League of Legends universe.

A first edition that marked the spirits
In 2025, the inaugural edition of Niçoise gathered 17,900 visitors and 3,500 competitors representing 93 nationalities. It had generated an online audience of 1.7 million unique spectators, with a peak of 199 000 people connected simultaneously.
These figures have installed Nice as one of the great European rendezvous of the fighting game. The Territory has thus repeatedly welcomedLFL Days, while the Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur has brought together the actors of the video game28 and 29 January at Level Two.
An anchor that reinforces the attractiveness of the territory
Created in 2002, the Evolution Championship Series is the largest and oldest battle games tournament. The global circuit is being rolled out in the United States, Japan and France, before a planned establishment in Singapore in 2027.
In hosting the EVO for the second year in a row, the territory confirms its position on the world scale of the esport and relies on a digital and creative ecosystem in structuring, cross-training specialized training, studios and events with international radiation.
