Fatoumata Diawara

With its great modern priesthood, this artist embodies the memory of the future of West Africa. As one of the voices of Mali’s Gold in the lineage of its elders (Rokia Traoré, Oumou Sangaré), she has a strong legacy. Singing in bambara on an orchestration that allows itself to the musical connivences (from -M-, Herbie Hancock, Roberto Fonseca or Damon Albarn...), it was in a free artist that she denounced subjects of society until then still tabous.

She comes back to us this summer with a sleek new album, with intimistic accents, delivering with a beautiful sincerity her tests of wife, mother, daughter. Between betrayal and resilience, she shares a personal experience that celebrates the strength of destiny and pays tribute to life!
