I'm driving the Kentucky roads. The landscapes defy: meadows and hilly plains crossed by rivers. I stop in an old farm forgotten, a few kilometers from Louisville. The place is quiet, quiet, of eternal beauty and filled with memory. Suddenly, I feel like I see the figures of Naomi Wallace’s characters in the shadow of the barns. Further on the road, a small town appears. Nothing is idyllic, the houses are dilapidated, in ruins. The ghostly bodies are damaged by work. The poorest population in the United States is here abandoned and swallowed by drugs. Eden goes to this Kentucky there in 1974. Naomi Wallace completes his Kentucky trilogy with a work both intimate, political and poetic, where the ghosts of his adolescence resonate.
