Counts & family legends
The story begins in the tumult of the 80s, where we follow Émilie Guinchon and Louis Sérignac who, to soothe the insomnia of the young woman, go to the search for answers on her past. This quest for identity and renewal with its origins brings the young couple to the heart of the forest of the Ardennes, in the dark and disturbing hamlet of Scrupt. Through their exploration, they discover family secrets buried for a long time.
With its new creation, Felicien Chauveau imagines a vast family puzzle going through the centuries, from 1356 to an imaginary future in 2336, where recitals, dialogues and visual forms mix in an evolutionary scenography. The actions and the choices of the characters resonate through time, drawing a story where past, present and future intertwine in a dizzying way.
Intention
My ambition is to realize a theatrical experience in a close relationship with the actors, which stimulates imagination and awakens curiosity. I would like Accounts & family legends to be an invitation to travel in time, a reflection on the human condition and the impact of personal and collective choices on our destiny. By choosing meticulously every time, I am interested in the universal themes of existence, as in the singularity of each historical period. Each sequence is a window on the past, present or future, a new perspective on our place in the vast account of humanity. Felicien Chauveau
