The Little Red Chaperon
He was once a little girl who was bored, alone in her house. His mother, overwhelmed and always rushed, forbids her to leave. The child dreamed of discovering the world beyond the forest. One day, she finally obtained permission to visit her grandmother on the other side of the woods. On the way, she crosses a world where curiosity blends with fear, where the unknown attracts as much as he worries... and where the wolf is never very far.
This "Petit Chaperon rouge" is a theatrical adventure that transcends the tale and explores, with poetry, the founding fears of childhood. A delicate ode to the power of the imagination, for the little ones as for the great ones.
"The Little Red Chaperon" is the first show to the young audience of Joel Pommerat and one of his greatest successes. He crosses the story of Charles Perrault with the greatest simplicity, emblematic of his theatre, putting on the effects of magical lights and sounds that sublimate the game of the actors.
IntentionI wanted to talk today to children today. Tell again, as simply and as concretely as possible, the story of this little girl who leaves her mother's house to go to her grandmother's house and meets a wolf. The passage from one generation to another, the desire and the fear of growing, the loneliness, the encounter, without these issues being addressed directly by the characters, that is, I believe, that makes this story so appealing to children and adults. Joël Pommerat
