La Grande Galerie

The reception apartments are organized around the large gallery, inspired by Louis XVI.
The exhibitions, portraits lounge, large living room and smoky are followed in the south side. The dining room and its veranda, in the east, do during the Prince’s office, located west.

The large gallery is decorated with a painted frieze, inspired by the ancient Greco-Latin. She is the work of Alexandre-Evariste Fragonard (1780-1850), son of Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732-1806), both born in Grasse. It would come from the castle of the Faulotte to Nogent on Marne, for which it was designed.

If the statue on the foot of Napoleon by Chaudet welcomes visitors since the creation of the villa, the two large paintings representing the Maréchal Masséna (1758-1817) and Ignace Thaon de Revel (1771-1835) were arranged here to mention the attachment of the Niçois to both France and the Maison de Savoie.
